Go do productive work, earn money and then donate greedy bastards.

Voting won't keep the server as much alive as donating.

It sounds good, but think about it, winning these top 100s are important, but getting donations and keeping the server running is what matters.

Here is how I see it.

People need a private server.
To maintain a good private server you need Money.
Voting attracts more people to the server causing more lag.
More lag causes needs for improvements in the server.

People who Donate help maintain the server.

People who do not donate don't necessarily deserve special gear for voting.

I lolled, and you'r math isn't quite correct.

We don't realy need votes because we are the highest ranked server of our kind on xtremetop100, we shoul'd focus on attracting more people to donate ( faster deliverence, not 2 weeks like me -__-;; ). Also we got 1500+ players online every day, this already causes lag. Even more reasons for more donators.

You could also increase the cost of donations because it isn't realy that much now (except for the godzor and vip).
